It had been built before the Civil War, and was a handsome building for a town of four thousand. The floor of the west portico jutted out to make a stand which had been the product block when the region had sold large number of slaves down the river. The huge four-faced clock in the town kept time with surprising accuracy, and the greet bell tolled the hours in a deep and drowsy tone, and much, much more. Thanks for Looking.
