Contest include: that all of shakespear’s drama were written and on the stage long before they we printed is well known, but the precise date of the composition of any of them is a matter of conjecture, and fortunately is of no real importance to the general reader. “A midsummer-night’s dream” was produced as early as 1598-probably much earlier-but its first publication was 1600, in which year two quarto editions were issued, being the only editions published previous to its appearance in the famous” first folio,” a collection of the poet’s plays printed in 1623, seven years after his death, and much, much more.This book does not have illustrations.
